Rigid Industries JL A-Pillar Mounts

As soon as I invested into the new Jeep Wrangler JL the list to modify began to take shape. The challenge was the products available were not as wide spread as the JK for obvious reasons. The great thing about this is that brands had to start introducing new products including the Rigid Industries JL A-Pillar Mounts.

These mounts were a new install for us as we’ve never had to unhinge the windshield to install any lights. The beauty of this was it required no new hardware and only unscrewing six (6) bolts. First, you have to remove the windshield wipers, after that there are four (4) interior bolts to remove. Altogether the removal and drop of the windshield only takes about 10 minutes.

After successfully removing the bolts and dropping the windshield it is best to start and finish on one side before removing to the next. This way you can remove the windshield hinge bolts, slide the mount into place and then reinstall the bolts. You will need to position your hand under the windshield and guide it a little to ensure the bolts are tighten straight. After you finish, move and repeat on the other side and continue flipping the windshield back in place and tighten everything back up.

Overall, I really like the look that these mounts provide. They are out of the way and provide the appearance that they are floating above the hood. Positioning is good, but definitely could have been extended another 1″ – 2″ inches outward to align on the edge of the windshield. The mount themselves are powder-coated and should resist any rust.

Lastly, we mounted our Rigid Industries Radiance PODs that were a nice replacement to the full hood mount we did have. See the before and after shoots below.
