2024 Jeep Wrangler EV Makes Off-Roading Electric

Stellantis is at it again by making the Jeep Wrangler more powerful than ever. Get ready for the 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV! That’s right. The electric Jeep is on the way to dominate the wild with an electric charge.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV is official

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV is finally happening. Remember the Moab Easter Jeep Safari back in 2021? That’s when we saw the Jeep Magneto, a battery-electric vehicle concept based on the 2020 Wrangler Rubicon.

We can use the Magneto to gather clues about the upcoming electric Wrangler. However, the Wrangler is due for a mid-cycle refresh in 2023, so the Wrangler EV will probably look a little different.

According to Electric Vehicle Web, the Magneto is currently the baseline, though, and it will be tested in Moab, Jeep’s natural testing ground, over the next two years. It’s being used to gauge customers’ reactions to an all-electric Jeep. Also, it’s being used to determine what a battery electric vehicle can do.

What to expect with the Wrangler EV?

We hope that the 2024 Jeep wrangler EV remains on track and avoids potential delays. By 2024, the new STLA frame platform designed for electric pickup trucks will be ready for deployment. It has a 500-mile range.

The electric platform helps to redesign the Wrangler with a shooter hood, more forward-set wheels, and even a front storage trunk. Big items that currently can’t be moved will be able to fit in new configurations.

With the goal of making the Wrangler EV just as great and even better than the Wrangler Rubicon 392, Jeep aims to place a much more efficient package in the vehicle.

But Jeep doesn’t want to go too far. When the round headlights were replaced with square headlamps, fans were horrified. Jeep seeks to remain true to its traditional theme and roots with continued connections to the original 1941 Willys Jeep.

One of the biggest challenges involves charging infrastructure during long camping trips. So Jeep is dedicated to using solar-powered charging stations at Badge of Honor trails around Moab and the Rubicon Trail in California.

What features will the Wrangler EV have?

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler EV is still pretty far away, so things may change. However, biometric recognition technology will allow owners to unlock and start their Wranglers with a simple face scan.

A horizontal lightbar will be located behind the signature seven-slot grille to light up the darkness. Also, peer-to-peer charging will help fellow EV owners in need. Remote vehicle tracking, drone pairing, AR HUD, OTA updates, and more features are on the way.

The Jeep Wrangler Magneto has 285 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mpg in about 8.1 seconds. Plus, it has a six-speed manual transmission available. The Li-ion batteries are mounted on the wheels to balance the weight.

We think that the Magneto is an epic start. The Wrangler EV could have more power. More information about it should arrive in the spring and summer months.
