Immediately clarify that we are talking about a plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xe.

The other day, the 2022 Women’s World Car of the Year announced its winners. There are six of them, including the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe that won in the 4×4 category.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s electric-only range reaches 21 miles/35 km. The company says it is Jeep’s most capable and eco-friendly vehicle, almost silent, by the way. Ladies have pleased the combination of off-road driving with ‘green’ propulsion, as well as a quite pleasant interior.

The advanced 375-hp hybrid powertrain comprises a high-tech, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with two electric motors and a high-voltage 14-kWh battery pack, plus the TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain delivers fuel-saving, seamless, start-stop operation of the engine and instant torque from the electric motors.

The fuel efficiency is EPA’s 49 MPGe with the battery charged, or 4.8 Le/100 km rated by Natural Resources Canada.

The rest category winners of the Women’s World Car of the Year are the Peugeot 308 (Urban Model), Kia Sportage (Family SUV, Ford Mustang Mach-E (Large Car), BMW iX (Large SUV), and Audi e-Tron GT (Performance Car).

The jury consists of 55 female journalists from 40 countries and 5 continents. The criteria of assessment include safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, value for money, impact on the environment. 65 candidates were in the running, all launched between January 1 and December 31, 2021.
